We are a family owned and operated service in Gwandalan, NSW where our highly qualified educators have been providing quality care and learning opportunities since 2006.
Our service caters to 60 children per day from ages 6 weeks-6 years. We are open Monday to Friday, 7am - 6pm, with all meals provided.
Our service compromises of 4 rooms, being divided into ages 0 - 2 years, 2 - 3 years, 3 - 4 years and 4 - 5 years. We implement a play based school readiness program to assist with transition to school for our 4 - 5 year room. At Gwandalan Preschool, we strive to create an environment that provides feelings of acceptance, value, belonging, equity and inclusion, while supporting children to develop in all learning dispositions.
Our educators are highly skilled and passionate individuals, with over 19 years experience collectively and we use a Key Educator approach.
Each room has a curriculum implemented which is led by the children's ever changing ideas, interests, abilities, culture and needs. We believe that quality learning is achieved through engaging play experiences and encourage this throughout our curriculum which is influenced by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). We are recognised as meeting in the National Quality Standards.
Our large outdoor environments provide sun-safe and play-safe areas, incorporating gross motor with quiet and reflective areas. We love to bring the outdoors in and do this by utilising our large undercover area for indoor/outdoor play.
Meals are provided during your child's time at the centre, they will receive morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Establishing good eating habits is an essential part of healthy development in young children. We particularly recognise that the education and care setting play a key role in teaching children to learn and develop a positive attitude towards food and healthy eating.
Our 4-weekly menu is designed to ensure that there is a balance of nutritional ingredients from all food groups offered throughout the day. Each menu is planned, incorporated and evaluated in conjunction with families and educators while taking into account the recommendations outlined in the National Health and Medical Research Council, the Five Food Groups and requirements under the National Law.
