Miss Tahlia has been apart of the Gwandalan Preschool educators for 6 years and has lead the 3 -4 Koala Room for the past 3 years. Much of her pedagogy revolves around being a passionate, kind and fun educator. Having a big family and being around children has been a huge source of her life which led to her chosen career path.
Miss Tahlia believes a strong bond between educator and child is the foundation for children to feel safe and secure in their environment which allows children to confidently move forward to engage in play and learning. "Children are given choices, opportunities and responsibilities to initiate their own learning, and my role as educator is to guide along the way. Techniques I use in my teaching, include ensuring the environment is constructed around assisting children in achieving their developmental milestones".
Miss Tahlia strives to ensure the learning environment is inviting and welcoming, additionally enhancing children's interests in developmental domains. "Learning in early childhood is done successfully through stations that can be visited, explored and revisited again and again. The environment should take into consideration the social skills, communication skills, physical abilities or challenges and learning styles of individual children.
Miss Tahlia has a delightful Border Collie, whom she spends much of her spare time with, going on fun adventures!
